Amazing health benefits of apples


These days most of us are becoming health conscious and one of the best ways to do so is by enjoying fruits and vegetables rather than fast food. So, let’s look at one fruit in particular at this time – the Apple! 

Apples are surely delicious and there are various types – sweet and sour; green, red and you’ll even find a huge variety amongst them.  Apples have various benefits, let’s take a look at few of them:

Cholesterol control:

Apples help reduce the level of bad cholesterol in your blood and therefore, just one apple a day too would help immensely. Apples possess pectin and that’s responsible for the reduction of cholesterol. But, pectin is found on the skin of Apples and hence you’d need to have the skin – just in case you’re in the habit of throwing it away. 


Apples for healthy bones:

Apples have phloridzin which is a flavonoid and this helps increase the overall bone density and at the same time it also strengthens your bones. The list of apple benefits just goes on and on.

Asthma? – Apples are a relief

Apples are a great way to prevent Asthma. Years of research has proven that children who had plenty of apples in their childhood were less likely to develop asthma later on in their life.
Prevention of Cancer

Apples have plenty of benefits; but, the most notable ones include prevention of lung cancer breast cancer, liver cancer as well as colon cancer. Flavanoids in general help prevent lung cancer. The flavonoids quercetin and navinin present in apples help prevent lung cancer.  

Pectin doesn’t just control your cholesterol; but, it also helps prevent breast and colon cancer. Apples don’t just protect the liver from liver cancer; they protect your entire digestive system. Therefore, as far as possible, try to have at least one apple a day.
